chocolate. books. exploring the wanderlust inside of you.
puppies. diamonds. new school supplies.
what is happiness? how do you achieve the unconditional art of genuine happiness?
i am one soul, with one mind, and i have come from one unparalleled life story. therefore, i cannot speak for anyone but myself. however, if you would like to take my contour of the subject and bring it into play in your own life, that is exactly why i am writing this piece.
as chocolate and puppies bring about a smile on my face, i have to be the one to grant myself permission to cherish the smile on my face. if i decide today that chocolate is not as flavorful melted as frozen, and that puppies are only “fetching” when they cuddle you in the nape of your neck, then it is a crime that i have committed to not see the gem in the situation.
i have been in relationships where my significant other was the author of my happiness. that person created my happiness. they held it in their hands and flirted with it right in front of me, and they just as easily left my heart feeling so bankrupt and poisoned. the crime of allowing another being to be the sole source of ones happiness can lead to damaging situations.
never count on someone to make you happy. never give someone the power to juice your happiness.
(remember, when you juice, you put the whole object into the juicer. what comes out is only the most nutrient of the root object. dont let anybody steal your juice.)
if you are one who is stuck on finding meaning in hopes to find happiness…i have good news for you, darling. you have meaning. you may not know exactly what that meaning is right now, but thats ok. the first thing you ever did as a newborn was inhale your first breath. the last thing you will ever do before leaving this earth is exhale your last breath. in between those two moments, youre breathing, creating experiences, not just for you, but for others around you as well. as a human being, that is the first meaning that was ever attached to your name. dont worry my friend, you have a meaning.
being happy is about remaining in a ceaseless state of mind. state of peace. having exultant ideation. sojourning in positivity. not just having a singular moment of complete peacefulness, but rather molding this mood into a new, illimitable way of life.
find peace with being alone.
never deny a beautiful sight.
“The ship of my life may or may not be sailing on calm and amiable seas. The challenging days of my existence may or may not be bright and promising. Stormy or sunny days, glorious or lonely nights, I maintain an attitude of gratitude. If I insist on being pessimistic, there is always tomorrow. Today I am blessed.” Maya Angelou
